Queensland Health (QH) has started searching for a senior public servant to oversee technology partners contracted for the state's $750 million investment in e-health systems.

The director being sought will report to interim chief information officer Dr Richard Ashby, who replaced CIO Paul Summergreene in July, after he was fired from his position.
The role of the director will focus primarily on managing QH's e-health 'Alliance' team which currently has a mix of 150 public and private sector staff dedicated to the four-year e-health program.
Queensland Health in August awarded Electronic Data Systems and PricewaterhouseCoopers key roles in supporting the statewide e-health strategy, however it remains unclear exactly what role the new public servant will play in relation to the pair.
The director will be renumerated up to $180,000 per year, according to documents released by the agency.
