Qld Govt forms e-docs panel

The Queensland Government has formed a multi-vendor panel to provide electronic document and records management systems for the whole of the state government.

The vendors that gained a place on the panel are Open Text, Objective, and Hewlett Packard for its TRIM Product, according to the Queensland Government's acting CIO Alan Chapman.

The inclusion of HP's TRIM product is still under negotiation, but some agencies have been using the vendor's older product for many years.

Previously, government agencies had purchased the systems on their own through individual vendors. The new arrangement is touted to help the government reduce costs of purchasing and maintaining the systems.

Chapman was unable to supply an approximate value of products and services that would be acquired through the panel. "The companies form part of a standing offer arrangement," he said. "We are not aware of any additional contracts that have been entered into as yet."
