Optus delivered an early Christmas present to its OptusNet Cable Internet customers last night.

The data bonus previously announced for January and February has been extended to December, and gives users the download quota that normally applies to the next highest plan. The size of the bonus varies from approximately 2.5G for 'Lite' users to 9G for those on the 'Pro' plan. Users on the Ultimate plan will have an allowance of 20G rather than 15G for the duration of the bonus offer.

Customers who have already been 'capped' for exceeding their allowance this month will be released from speed limiting and allocated the bonus.

Details of new plans and pricing to come into effect in March will be announced to customers in mid January.
