New MD for Microsoft Australia

update Microsoft Australia has named Tracey Fellows as the new managing director, Australia and New Zealand (ANZ), to replace the departing Steve Vamos.

Fellows takes up the new role beginning 8 February, vacating the position of director business and marketing operations ANZ.

She joined Microsoft Australia in 2003 as director, server business group. Her 19 years experience in the industry has included stints at Dell and IBM.

Fellows holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Monash University and a postgraduate diploma of banking management from the Macquarie Graduate School of Management.

Fellows emigrated to Australia from Canada as a teenager.

Microsoft Australia staff were informed of the appointment this afternoon. Fellows' successor is yet to be announced, according to a Microsoft spokesperson.

The recently promoted Vamos will move to Seattle to assume the role of vice president, International, Online Services Group, from April.
