NSW Linux tender response date set

Linux and open source solution suppliers wishing to respond to the NSW government's long-awaited Linux tender -- to be released on Wednesday -- will have until 28 October to do so, officials said.

The state government will identify preferred suppliers to comprise an accredited panel from which government agencies can source Linux and open source solutions without having to go through a full tendering process.

The release of the tender documentation comes after a series of delays, attributed by NSW officials to the need to consult with a number of potential suppliers and agencies with an interest in Linux and open source projects.
