if you don't like it, use other platforms - why should MSFT pay fines for something YOU need. Greedy bastards
...hhmmm.. no defrags, ...no virus or trogans, no lock ins....
Sorry to disappoint you but I think you should look in the mirror!
I am on another platform already, my platform is a Debian Linux based distro called Kanotix, are you running M$ Windows?? Looks like you are.
Maybe I could suggest you try another platform.
One of the reasons (of many) for me in NOT Complying with the M$ dictatorship is that (while you sleep in the glory & joy of the Bill G trance) that M$ is always busy trying to control media content.
You see, your old TV in your lounge room is going to disappear one day, it will be replaced my internet news media stream, M$ is busy making sure you can only watch TV in a Microsoft TV set only, with a M$ aproved news brodacaster, with M$ aproved news content, when M$ wants to feed your brain a daily diet of 'Get the Facts' , it has full access to it.
OOops! looks like you are already under.
I say, lets stop the spread of Windows media player all over the net before this cancer grows too big & all media is manipulated by the M$ marketing department.
As an Aussie, it deeply offends me to think that the money that I have paid to Microsoft in exchange for products (which I consider to be pretty good on the whole) could potentially end up in the coffers of European Government to be used in turn to prop up inefficient European industry and producers such as aircraft manufacturers and the agriculture industry.
In my opinion, this suit against Microsoft is gross hypocrisy on the part of the EU – the EU is the bastion of anti-competitive protectionism!
Is the world a better place as a result of this EU decision, probably not.
