Macquarie University Private Hospital (MUPH) will spend up to $7.6 million on IBA's Lorenzo clinical, administrative and financial applications.
MUPH, an $80 million joint venture between Macquarie University and Dalcross Private Hospital, will be the first hospital in Australia to gamble on iSoft's Lorenzo Acute Care.
The deal, announced this morning, includes support and maintenance for six years, with an option to extend a further three years.
"As an early adopter of Lorenzo Acute Care, we aim to play an active role in the development program and, with other users, help shape the future of healthcare IT systems," said Carl Adams, CEO of Dalcross Private Hospital.
MUPH will also be the first Australian hospital to implement iSoft's financial suite of finance and purchasing systems, according to IBA.
IBA gained the Lorenzo suite of applications when it acquired iSoft in 2007 for £166 million. The then UK-software company had been struggling amidst criticisms for delays in CSC's implementation of Lorenzo under the UK NHS's National Programme for IT.
Earlier this year, IBA's CEO Gary Cohen said IBA would open up its Lorenzo applications to third-party developers, claiming it as fundamental to the company's future.
