Hi Fert buys AU$7.5m of SAP support

Fertiliser specialist Hi Fert will have its SAP environment supported by Unisys for the next five years, in a deal signed in June worth AU$7.5 million.

Hi Fert claims to be one of Australia's largest fertiliser manufacturers and distributors, with a stronghold in eastern Australia. The group distributes over 600,000 tonnes of fertiliser each year and maintains a head office in Melbourne.

"Unisys will provide support services, consultancy, process re-engineering and training for all modules of the SAP enterprise resource planning (ERP) application," a statement issued by Unisys yesterday said. "The contract also covers enhancement work surrounding the SAP application."

Today, a spokesperson for the vendor confirmed the deal was worth AU$7.5 million over five years.

In the vendor's statement, Hi Fert's IT manager, John Dunn, said Unisys was "quickly identified" as the chosen vendor, "because they offered us agility and flexibility". Unisys has commenced delivery of the contract.
