Greater Union/Rydges refreshes tech

in brief Australian company Amalgamated Holdings (AHL) has appointed systems integrator IMC Communications to conduct a wide-ranging technology refresh project that will impact its Greater Union cinema and Rydges hotel chains.

"The TechRefresh project by IMC includes designing and implementing a fully tailored IT upgrade to be rolled out to over 100 locations in all AHL's Greater Union cinemas and Rydges Hotels across Australia and New Zealand over the next 18 months," a statement issued by IMC said this morning.

The statement said IMC had already commenced its delivery of an upgrade that will touch the following areas within AHL:

  • Microsoft Active Directory
  • IBM Lotus Notes
  • standard operating environments for all desktop, server and messaging devices
  • supply and replacement of desktop, server and software products
  • staff training

Neither AHL or IMC had a spokesperson available to comment on the project.
