Genworth gets Aussie CIO

in brief Genworth Financial has hired a new chief information officer to replace Christopher Hatzidis, who left the mortgage insurer to join Aussie Home Loans last October.

A spokesperson for the company told ZDNet Australia that Genworth's new CIO Sarma Rajaraman came on deck yesterday, bringing 17 years of experience in the technology industry to the position.

The spokesperson could not confirm Rajaraman's immediate past position, however, they said the executive had worked for Holland Insurance and Tower Australia.

Genworth is a global insurance and financial services giant, with some 15 million customers in 24 countries internationally. Locally, the company has around 300 staff and claims to have insured over AU$200 billion of residential mortgages since 1965.
