Fujitsu wins SBR role

in brief Japanese technology giant Fujitsu has won itself a place alongside IBM and others in delivering the Australian Treasury's Standard Business Reporting (SBR) project.

Fujitsu will deliver and support its Interstage XWand software, which helps to produce financial applications utilising the eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL). The SBR project is aimed at reducing the business reporting burden for Australian businesses through simplifying business-to-government reporting.

The value of Fujitsu's deal with Treasury is approximately $4 million over an initial two-year period, according to a statement issued by the company.

IBM has previously won a $10 million contract as the lead vendor for the SBR project, which Cybertrust Australia is also involved in.
