in brief Fujitsu today announced an 18-month deal with WA's largest electricity provider Verve energy to design and implement an energy trading management system.
The system was central to Verve's core business, according to Fujitsu, and will be used in power stations across the state including four large facilities at Kwinana, Cockburn, Pinjar and Muja. The system will be written in .NET on an Oracle database including innovations from Fujitsu architects and developers.
"This contract will deliver significant benefits for Verve Energy and for the State of Western Australia," Verve Energy managing director Shirley In't Veld said of the partnership.
Fujitsu will undertake a six-month design phase, followed by 12 months of construction to build the system. A support deal would be negotiated separately according to a spokesperson for Verve Energy.
Verve Energy declined to name a value for the deal.
