DWS Advanced Business Solutions announced today that it had won a two-year $4.5 million contract with the Australian Communications and Media Authority.
DWS has been tasked with replacing and integrating ACMA's business software platform. Work for the first phase of the project, which was worth around $700,000, had already started, according to the IT services company. The project will mainly be delivered via Microsoft's customer relationship management product.
DWS chief executive Danny Wallis pointed out that this win, along with the company's $5.3 million win with the Department of Transport to work on its performance reporting systems, had given the company a stronger footprint in the public sector. The company also recently retained its deal with the Australian Taxation Office to support the office's e-tax software.
"We are continuing to win projects of significant value confirming our stated objective of growth in this sector," he said. The recent establishment of an office in the Australian Capital Territory would support the growth, according to the company.
Wallis also considered that the ACMA and Department of Transport projects, which both involved Microsoft products, rectified DWS's acquisition of Strategic Data Management back in 2007 — a specialist Microsoft integration and application development company.
