Thin client specialist Citrix Systems has added to its software development staff in Sydney as part of its acquisition of resource management vendor Aurema.
Citrix announced it acquired processor workload monitoring technology from the Cupertino, California-headquartered Aurema, originally founded in Sydney in 1986. Aurema still runs its development and engineering in Sydney.
As part of the deal, seven Aurema employees will join Citrix's virtualisation systems group but remain in Sydney.
Citrix already has around 30 software developers at research and development facilities in Sydney. It has licensed a subset of Aurema's processor workload management technology in its Presentation Server product for the last couple of years.
"Going forward, Citrix plans to further leverage Aurema technology to offer CPU workload management capabilities in our application delivery products as well as other application virtualisation offerings," Nabeel Youakim, Citrix vice president and product line executive, Virtualisation Systems Group, said in a statement.
The value of the deal was not disclosed.
