Centrelink will standardise its business reports on Cognos 8 after the vendor won a AU$9 million tender for business intelligence and performance management software.
The social services agency is rationalising its business intelligence tools to a centralised, agency-wide system. Centrelink said it wanted to decrease training and support costs associated with a range of products in its request for tender last year.
Centrelink had used Cognos's PowerPlay and Impromptu products, as well as tools from other vendors, for its business intelligence reporting.
The new Cognos 8 Business Intelligence system will provide mainstream reporting and analysis, strategic and operational score carding, dashboards, budgeting and forecasting, and data and text mining.
The system will be available to 29,000 Centrelink staff, and offer self-service user reports.
Centrelink reported the three year contract value, covering supply, implementation and support, as AU$9,818,231.50.
