Capgemini picks up 75 Nu staff

in brief Technology services group Capgemini today revealed it would likely pick up 75 new software testing consultants through an in-principle agreement to acquire Australian company Nu Solutions.

"Under the terms of the agreement, Nu Solutions' 75 testing consultants in the company's Sydney and Melbourne offices will be fully absorbed into Capgemini Australia, to form a dedicated division branded Capgemini Testing Services," Capgemini said in a statement.

Capgemini said that after the acquisition it would have 750 staff supporting its local operations: 500 based in Australia and the rest in other locations including India.

"There is increasing recognition among Australian organisations about the importance of strategic software testing for mission-critical applications. This acquisition will deliver skills and infrastructure to meet this increasing need," said Paul Thorley, Capgemini Australia's chief executive officer.
