Autodesk announced a raft of updates to its software range this week, with new versions of its software families including AutoCAD, along with updates to its vertical market software such as Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk 3ds Max Design, Maya and Revit.

Autodesk is best known for its CAD software.

Each Autodesk software family contains a range of discipline-specific software, including manufacture design, digital prototyping, architecture, construction management, map making and media and entertainment.

Autodesk's new 2009 range of construction, industry and design software will be available from 25 March.
