in brief Darwin-based IT services firm CSG has acquired local company CingleVue, which focuses on providing Oracle services to customers in the education sector.

CSG chief executive Denis Mackenzie said the deal, the value of which was not disclosed, represented the beginning of a strategic direction by his company to build up its application services business, particularly its desire to start an Oracle partner business in Australia.

"CSG has been looking for opportunities to partner with Oracle in the Northern Territory, Western Australia and Victoria for some time, and the acquisition of CingleVue hastens our ability to respond to these opportunities," he said. "Not only will CingleVue add capability to respond to these opportunities, but they bring a pipeline in excess of $100 million in tender business within the Australian education space."
