in brief After a month of online voting for favourite designs, the winning 'my Australia' Google Logo was announced today.

In July, Google called for students across Australia to draw their own version of the Google logo using the theme 'My Australia', the winner of which would be shown on the Google Australia Web site on Australia day 2008 to an estimated nine million people.

From over 8,500 entries, 32 were put online so that four finalists could by chosen by public vote.

The winning design was drawn by Janelle San Juan, 12, of The School of the Good Shepherd in Victoria. Her school will receive AU$10,000 worth of technical equipment, while the four finalists will receive an interactive whiteboard for their school.
