Infrastructure services provider United Group has signed a multimillion dollar deal to roll out SAP's ERP suite across its operations in Australia and Asia.

Currently in its scoping stages, the ERP (enterprise resource planning) suite will be deployed to more than 1,000 United employees across Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia -- after 18 months.

United chief information officer Liz Latham said the company wanted to run SAP across all its infrastructure, rail and resources divisions to replace "point solutions".

"A consolidated platform will enable us to operate more cohesively," she said in a statement.

The group will manage the implementation in-house.

The exact value of the deal was not disclosed. United could not comment by press time.
