CA locks up AU$26m ATO deal By Steven Deare, ZDNet Australia March 26, 2007 URL: http://www.zdnet.com.au/news/software/soa/CA-locks-up-AU-26m-ATO-deal/0,130061733,339274502,00.htm
update CA has nabbed a AU$26.6 million software contract with the Australian Taxation Office for the next five years. The AU$26,632,871.10 contract is for the "perpetual licence and associated services for a suite of software", according to the AusTender Web site. The contract period began last week and runs until 22 March, 2012. An ATO spokesperson said the contract was a renewal of mainframe, server and end user products used for code generation, help desk, change management, reporting, security and data modelling. Until now, the software had been licensed on a term basis with rolling three year licenses. Under the new agreement, the two organisations have extended the terms to five years following some additions from CA. "CA offered to provide the Tax Office with a Perpetual license to the software inclusive of 5 years prepaid maintenance, with a substantially increased MIPS limit on the mainframe, [and] some associated services," the ATO spokesperson said. ATO's deal comes on top of a recent contract it signed with IT services company Accenture for AU$224 million to handle changes to superannuation introduced in last year's federal budget.
