in brief Software development and services outfit Mincom has acquired Perth-based mining software specialist Karjeni in a transaction of undisclosed value.

"Karjeni brings significant technical mining expertise," Mincom chief executive officer Richard Mathews said in a statement issued this morning. Mincom already has an extensive customer list amongst the mining community.

"They have built an impressive client list globally, including several of the world's largest gold mining companies." Karjeni's flagship product is called dPipe and delivers technical data management automation for miners, but the company also has other offerings.

With the buy, Mincom has started to make good on its promise of future acquisitions resulting from an injection of capital through its own acquisition by private equity firm Francisco Partners.
