Unisys wins WA integration contract By Munir Kotadia, ZDNet Australia July 03, 2006 URL: http://www.zdnet.com.au/news/software/soa/Unisys-wins-WA-integration-contract/0,130061733,139262026,00.htm
The Western Australia Department for Community Development (WA DCD) has inked a three year contract with Unisys West to replace its existing client management system. The department's new product, which is called Assist, will be used by around 1,700 staff in 84 locations around the state. The move is expected to provide staff and related agencies simple access to client information that is currently stored on multiple databases and in various formats. Judy Hogben, Assist Executive Sponsor at the WA DCD, said that Assist will provide the department's staff to easily share important information. "The new system will strengthen the ability of the Department and interrelated agencies to collaborate and share information more efficiently and effectively across the state and help deliver a range of long-term quantifiable benefits to the families and children of Western Australia," said Hogben in a statement. "For example, the Department's 24 Hour Crisis Care Unit staff will be able to immediately perform a person search and get a 'single view' of the client showing the client's full electronic file history and integrated case notes. Currently, much of this information is stored in several systems and hard copy files across the organisation," she added. Under the three-year contract, Unisys will be responsible for integrating a range of products used by the department including Oracle's PeopleSoft Enterprise CRM suite and Objective's ECM (Enterprise Content Management) suite.
