in brief Australian law firm Corrs Chambers Westgarth will progressively implement a new business intelligence platform in its financial reporting systems over the next 18 months. The firm, which has approximately 920 employees across Australia, will implement the new version 8 of Cognos' business intelligence software, according to a statement issued by the vendor today. "Our implementation of Cognos 8 Business Intelligence as an enterprise-wide financial reporting standard will benefit the entire Corrs organisation," the firm's manager of financial information systems, Colman Kenna, said in the statement. "Cognos will enable us to improve the firm's financial reporting by replacing labour-intensive processes with powerful business modelling tools and a central reporting repository that allows timely access to information," he concluded. ZDNet Australia is seeking further information from Corrs Chambers Westgarth.
