Google calendar goes live By Renai LeMay, ZDNet Australia April 13, 2006 URL: http://www.zdnet.com.au/news/software/soa/Google-calendar-goes-live/0,130061733,139251696,00.htm
Google today launched a Web-based calendar system that ties in with its existing popular e-mail and search engine applications. "Google Calendar" is a free service similar to existing efforts by Yahoo and others that allows users to make entries and remind themselves of upcoming events, in a Web-based format. The service is available online here now.
"Using Google Calendar, you can add events and invitations effortlessly, share with friends and family (or keep things to yourself), and search across the web for events you might enjoy. It's organising made easy," the landing page for the new application states. Users will need an account with the software vendor to be able to use the new calendar application. Supported Web browsers include Microsoft's Internet Explorer (version six or higher) and Mozilla Firefox (1.0.7 or higher).
