WA company delighted by Turkish TV deal

A Perth company has scored an international deal to help bring digital TV to Turkey. Data & Commerce has entered into an infrastructure project to provide a terrestrial television platform to a well-established Turkish broadcaster.

Date & Commerce Limited (DCL) will provide the platfirm to Sky TV Turkey, the first, non-national, local television operator in the country. IT operates two radio stations and an analogue news and general information TV service.

With DCL, Sky will pioneer digital broadcasting in Turkey. Like Australia, the country is undergoing the conversion of analogue broadcasting to digital.

In Decmeber, DCL signed a deal allowing the rollout of Pay TV services, digital TV, digital radio, interactive multimedia and two-way wireless Internet to Indonesia.

The Perth company will provide a DataOneT digital broadcasting platform to Sky TV Turkey, valued at approximately US$1.2m. The transaction is subject to certain conditions being satisfied by the 30 June 2001.

DataOneT is DCL's wireless digital broadcasting solution. All types of data - from digital television, to internet, to streaming video and audio and information services can be distributed with the DataOneT product suite.
