In the fast-paced world of high-tech, keeping skills up-to-date is essential. But who has time to go back to school? Staffing and training specialist Manpower Inc. is making it easier for busy professionals with its Global Learning Center, a virtual university that offers training, skills assessment and career services online for its 2 million employees worldwide.

The free service is available to all employees, either through the general Web site (www.manpowernet.com), which provides job search information and market-based employment data, or through a password-protected site that offers skills training and a variety of employment resources.

The courses available to students range from Windows NT to Oracle, Java and network training.

Manpower, based in Milwaukee, can be contacted via www.manpower.com.
