Vandals attack Microsoft, again

Microsoft's New Zealand Web site has been defaced by vandals, who left behind a page of graffiti, including "Another Micro$oft was hacked? !!Yes!!".

In what's understood to be the fifth time Microsoft has been the target of a security breach, Microsoft New Zealand confirmed the attack occured early Wednesday.

"This breach exploits an already known security issue for which a patch exists. There was no customer data or Microsoft-sensitive data on the site," Microsoft's New Zealand's Technical Manager, Richard Burte said.

A group called Prime Suspectz claimed responsibility for the defacement, leaving a message which read, "security wuz broke'n!".

Computer security Web site Attrition.org is hosting the page at Microsoft hack

Microsoft claims the Direct Access Web site www.microsoft.co.nz/directaccess - which is hosted from New Zealand - is the only Microsoft Web site affected by the crack.

"All other sites are hosted off www.microsoft.com."

Microsoft Australia was not available for comment on another defacement this week, in which vandals left comments, including "MICROSOFT.COM.SHOULD.GIVE.UP.BECAUSE.LINUXISGOD.CO."
