A Telstra representative confirmed that the problem affected users in Queensland, NSW and Victoria, and although it was for little more than an hour it follows a string of other hiccups ailing the telco heavyweight.
Telstra's ADSL and cable users were hit with a 13-hour broadband outage on Sunday, ruling out the use of email for users as they were disconnected from services unexpectedly and not allowed to reconnect.
On Tuesday, a circuit failure in the US was behind the degraded performance Telstra BigPond users had to contend with for just under two hours.
Telstra's BigPond broadband network was hammered with a string of authentication problems a couple of months ago and Telstra has confirmed that it does not provide a commitment of service to customers.
"We apologise for any inconvenience caused," a message still says to ADSL users on Telstra's service status page following its latest glitch.
Telstra has been scorched by critisism recently following its move to cap broadband data download on a plan widely regarded by users as "unlimited".
