Spike Studios, the strategic Internet services division of Spike Networks Limited, has won an international Award at the IdN Design 99 Awards ceremony held in Hong Kong on the 1st of December.

The International Designers Network Design Award in the Web/Entertainment category was awarded to Spike for the design innovation and creative excellence of the Australian Elle magazine site, www.elle.com.au, which was selected from over 2000 entries.

Elle's Australian site is updated monthly and launched in conjunction with the printed version of the magazine hitting newsstands. The site uses Macromedia's Flash technology.

"Everyone at Spike is ecstatic about receiving another globally recognised award. Receipt of such high accolades exemplifies Spike's commitment to produce the world's best interactive creative design. I extend my congratulations to the unbeatable production team in Spike's Sydney studio," said C.Chris O'Hanlon, CEO, Spike.

On the 15th November, Spike also won the 1999 London Interactive Association Award in the Money, Business and Interactive category for developing Commonwealth Bank's dynamic youth-focused Dotcomm site, located at www.commbank.com.au/dotcomm. In recent months, four Spike sites have been selected as finalists in other widely-recognised awards in the United States and Australia.
