Sony Pictures Entertainment on Friday said it shut down a Web site featuring an R-rated trailer for "Not Another Teen Movie," reflecting the industry's move to prevent young children from viewing adult-themed material.

Sony Pictures said it pulled the trailer off its Redbandtrailer.com Web site Thursday at the request of the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), which monitors advertising and marketing material for movies and prohibits the showing of R-rated trailers on the Web.

The Redbandtrailer.com site could not be accessed at all Friday.

The trailer of the film, which is a spoof of popular teen comedies, included partial nudity and foul language.

"We require R-rated trailers to be put in an area that has restricted access and uses some kind of adult verification," said Richard Taylor, a spokesman for the MPAA. "Once we were aware of it and informed Sony, they quickly took it down," he said, adding, "someone who didn't know better put the trailer up on the site."
