Local Internet Service Provider OzEmail experienced another mail server outage last night and as a result congestion this morning is causing delays for those trying to access email.
The ISP's technical support team has confirmed there was a complete mail server outage at about 8pm that lasted for about three hours and prevented users from accessing email nationwide.
This morning users are "having troubles connecting to the mail server," the support team said.
"A lot of people are trying to access their email this morning - the system's overloaded."
OzEmail claims that the latest blackout is related to an incoming mail server outage that left users unable to access email for almost three days at the beginning of February.
"Last night was not unrelated to the server software problem experienced earlier in the month, for which reason our reaction times were fast and the server issue was resolved rapidly," an OzEmai spokesman said.
The technical support team has suggested customers should "try again later".
"There's no ETA at the moment."
OzEmail is one of the country's largest ISPs with about 400,000 users.
OzEmail is in business because we enjoy exceptional customer loyalty. We have a great track record - however, all technology is only ever 99.9 percent problem-free. If there is ever an issue we immediately post it to our system status page, off our homepage - to ensure that our customers are in the know," the spokesman said.
"If some of our customers experienced difficulty last night due to this server issue, then we genuinely apologise for any inconvenience."
