Last minute rush for Love

Australian retailer Roses Only has been inundated with orders through it's online site this Valentine's Day, with one company spokesperson saying the service has far exceeded last years rush for roses online.

"We're just flat out. We had to restrict the orders on the site so that we could fulfil all the orders by five o'clock this evening,"

"We still have products left, we want to be able to fulfil the orders we have," a Roses Only spokesperson told ZDNet.

The company Web site announced that all online orders for deliveries throughout all major cities - except Perth - had closed at two o'clock AEST.

"We regret to announce that we have met our quota of orders for this area, no more products are available for delivery," a statement read.

Roses Only said it was prepared for an influx of orders on Valentine's Day by sub-contracting out the delivery service to other companies.

However, it seems orders surpassed expectations, with more being made this year compared to last.

Last Valentine's Day, the majority of orders were made through the call centre. However, the online store has surpassed the call centre this year.

"We were up all through the night with orders being placed from overseas," the spokesperson said. Which he believes is why the service has faced an influx this year.

"The Internet is great, we can extend our client base. We are offering both international and national orders."
