A further 80 staff from the outsourcing division of computer giant, IBM Global Services Australia (GSA), will go on strike over a 48 hour period this weekend.
The action is the result of 64 positions being axed within the data processing units in Sydney and Melbourne last week, which led to a mass walkout of 150 people.
The Community and Public Sector Union (CPSU) told ZDNet Australia the members will strike because an enterprise bargaining agreement is not being met by the computer company.
Severance pay for those made redundant is also an issue.
In total, 64 positions have been affected by IBM GSA's decision to consolidate its data processing unit in the Clayton division in Victoria, and outsource its media services division to JAV IT.
According to the CPSU, the data processing unit, which operates out of St Leonards in Sydney, will not be operational from June 1, 2001.
IBM GSA, however, denied the data processing unit will cease operations in Sydney.
The strike will begin on Easter Sunday evening and continue over a 48-hour period.
