Guide dogs to go digital

One of Australia's most respected charities, the Guide Dogs Associations of NSW and ACT will be launched into cyberspace next month..

Digital advertising agency Beyond Interactive has been appointed as the online agency to work in conjunction with the Guide Dogs' offline agency Fred Street to provide an integrated approach to online and Offline campaigns.

"If we can help Guide Dogs build relationships and awareness digitally, then that's something that makes us all feel good. The success of any charity is dependent on the relationship that charity can build with as many members of the general public as possible," said Laura A Peck, managing director, Beyond Interactive Australia.

The Guide Dog Association of New South Wales and ACT's move into cyberspace is seen as a ground-breaking move for charity organisations.

A recent UK report on online charity activity Virtual Promise produced by the UK-based Future Foundation states that very few charity groups are capitalising on online opportunities and less than 20 per cent of charities are using online display advertising.

Several companies will donate their services for the cyber campaign, including ZDNet.
