F2, Fairfax Interactive Network, has launched a new offering in the online information market, a real estate classifieds site, domain.com.au.

This new site offers detailed information and advice for buyers, sellers, renters and real estate agents. Visitors can access a wide range of information on listed properties, including maps of property locations, interior floor maps, colour photographs of properties, virtual tours and auction times and dates. Local data is also available, such as demographic information, local council rates, average property prices and nearby amenities and entertainment facilities.

The information presented on domain.com.au can be personalised depending on the visitor's particular interests, and their location (New South Wales or Victoria). Users of the site can also elect to receive an e-mail alert when properties suitable for them become available.

Domain.com.au is a natural development of Fairfax's substantial offline real estate publishing enterprises into the online arena, according to the CEO of John Fairfax Holdings, Fred Hilmer.

"This is a powerful extension of our classifieds and real estate tools, and is specifically designed to be of great value to real estate agents and their activities," he said.

Real estate agents using domain.com.au can choose their property of the week, apply 'sold' stickers to recently sold properties and instantly list properties for rent.

The service has been well-received by the real-estate industry according to Chris Hadcroft, Sales Coordinator at real estate firm Raine and Horne Annandale.

-It also saves us time because prospective buyers get all the information they need before calling to arrange an inspection,- he noted.
