The growth of 'portals' in Australia is continuing unabated with the latest group to jump on the bandwagon - Credit Union Services Australia- launching its own centralised online information resource targeted at the Australian lending community.

The site, 'My Home' was launched by Credit Union Services Australia, a body that represents 200 credit unions throughout the country. My Home is designed to be a resource centre for Credit Unions and their staff with news services, links to credit unions throughout the country, extranet services and cartoons.

According to the general manger of CUSCAL, Sandy Duckmanton, the site is designed to provide a central point of contact for credit union related information in Australia.

"My Home will offer a focussed gateway to the Internet to enable credit union employees to maximise their time spent online."

The site will also include chat and message board facilities in the form of the 'Australian Credit Union Exchange' to allow credit union employees to discuss pressing issues and ideas relevant to the industry.

"The Australian Credit Union Exchange will enhance the cooperative ideals of the credit union movement through this important new medium," Duckmanton stated.
