-So far, there's no increased signs of activity," Trend Micro Australia's Andy Liou told ZDNet. -We don't expect there will be a lot of damage considering the publicity that has so far prompted people to install the latest patches from Microsoft -- which will stop the worm."
Trend Micro claims to have had more reports from the SirCam virus than the Code Red worm -- which was expected to become active again at 10am AEDT, Wednesday.
Whilst analysts believe little activity is a good sign, more time is needed to assess the impact of the worm's infection they say.
"There hasn't been any discernable activity as yet," according to security distributor Janteknology's Glenn Miller. "I don't expect to see any real indicators until mid afternoon and we probably won't get a good handle on the worm's activity for another 24 hours," he said. "This could be either a big event or a big non event, shades of Y2K."

Why doesn't it get into the heads of people that the Y2K bug was a flop, due to the millions of man-hours and billions of dollars that went into projects all over the world, so that it wouldn't happen?
Is it so hard to get that into peoples thick heads?
