Aussie Post delivers ninemsn bill-pay package

Australia Post has joined forces with Web portal ninemsn to form Australia's largest bill-payment network.

The marriage will unite Australia's largest bill-payment provider with the nation's most popular Web site, which claims to reache 4.6 million monthly online customers. Users will be able to receive electronic bills and schedule bill payments to over 100 household providers, including electricity, gas, water and mobile phone carriers.

Australia Post's national manager of financial services, Terry Stephens, said the agreement would allow the corporation's online billpay service to reach more Australians than ever before. -The popularity of the ninemsn site will give Australia Post's online billpay service similar reach to our retail network, which is the largest in Australia," Stephens said.

ninemsn CEO, Steve Vamos, says the incorporation of a bill-payment facility to the ninemsn portal will expand the site's services. -ninemsn offers online Australians the best range of content and services available...Now people will be able to add bill paying to the vast range of services we already offer including shopping, searching for jobs or home loans, and entertainment information."

Australia Post already operates the country's single largest retail bill-payment network, with 170 million bills paid at Australia Post outlets last year for more than 400 billers. ninemsn currently has over 75 percent reach to Australian consumers, with over four million monthly visitors to the site.
