There were some strong entrants on the Triple-I Index today, which opened 8.9 points higher this morning despite a directionless start to the day due to the Independence Day break in the US.
LibertyOne (LIB) -- the leader by volume on the ASX at midday -- took the Triple-I Index by storm. The Internet solutions provider surged 36.5 percent in afternoon trade, taking its market value to 36 cents

BMC Media (BMC), which raked up a 48 percent rise yesterday, was queried by the ASX about its stockmarket surge. In afternoon trading, the bulk media buyer lost some of its previous day's gains and hit a day low of AU$1.10.
Davnet (DVT) continued to draw the crowds and was held the second highest volumes traded on the ASX by midday. With a 12.6 percent rise to its name in afternoon trade, its share price was up to AU$1.97. By the end of trade the junior telco was trading slightly down at AU$1.84.
Travel.com.au (TVL) failed to make a name for itself on the index today, despite announcing an agreement with American online adventure holiday specialist, iExplore. The deal will see Australians and New Zealanders able to access iExplore's one-stop resource for researching, purchasing and equipping adventure and experiential travel. The online travel agent was trading up a mere 1 percent to AU$1.06.
Another six entrants' securities were trading up in the seven percent bracket at midday, including Melbourne IT (MLB) which announced a licensing arrangement with DNS International. Through its domain name registration business, Internet Names WordWide, Melbourne IT will extend its reach into the non-English speaking Internet community and register domain names using Chinese characters. The domain name registrar was trading at AU$9.60 in afternoon trade.
