ASX Web site suffers technical glitches

The Australian Stock Exchange Web site has suffered its second technical glitch this week, causing sporadic interruption to some of the site's services.

According to a company spokesperson, the company announcement section of the ASX Web site is experiencing problems due to an error tied to the application server, which is provided by Net Dynamics.

The company announcements have been affected for up to one hour today, following a half hour glitch on Monday.

"Monday there was an outage, which was a technical issue. The site was out for 30 minutes," the spokesperson said.

"It looks to be an intermittent problem with dynamic content on the Web site,"

"The content is going through, and its up to date, but the application itself is down," he said.

According to the spokesperson, for every three users on the site, two will get through and one will have trouble accessing the information.

The company has reset the application server, however says a long term solution will need to be found to put in place a permanent fix. .

"We're currently rebooting the server to fix it temporarily, however a long term fix needs to be found."
