
America Online says worldwide membership in its flagship Internet service has surpassed 30 million.
The figure beats most analysts' estimates for growth. Seperately, it has expanded a marketing and technology pact with computer and printer maker Hewlett-Packard.
AOL, a unit of AOL Time Warner, said its subscription base has doubled over the last two and half years. AOL raised the price for its flagship service in May, although Australia was spared.
