Internet service provider AOL Australia has said there will be no changes to its pricing plans despite a price hike in the US.
Parent company AOL will raise the monthly access fee for unlimited Internet use from US$21.95 per month to US$23.90, beginning in July.
The US$1.95 raise in rates is the first rate hike for the service since April 1998.
"It has no impact on AOL Australia's pricing plan," a spokesperson for the local operation told ZDNet.
"Each AOL service bases its pricing on local market decisions," she added. "It's a US pricing change only."
AOL's Australian operation currently offers two pricing plans, both of which came into effect August last year.
The first is an unlimited price plan with a flat rate fee of AU$24.95.
Alternatively users can opt for the 'Lite' plan costing AU$8 for four hours per month - additional hours cost AU$2.50 per hour.
AOL said it doesn't have any plans "at this stage" to raise prices.
