Growth in Asia-Pacific's PC market has slowed significantly along with the rest of the world as the global market slump continues.

According to research company IDC, for the first time ever, the global PC market has fallen to an all time low as the Asian markets remain sluggish and the US slump continues.

In the Asia Pacific region, IDC reported that shipments declined by up to two percent in the second quarter. Primary growth engines in the region China and India were notably effected as consumer spending softened and the government technology spending declined.

Growth in Australia has also declined considerably as consumer spending decreased.

Local figures will be released in Australia at the end of the week.
