LookSmart takes fresh look at exec line up

Web search portal LookSmart has reshuffled executive shoes today, with Jason Kellerman moving into the role of the company's chief operating officer and Damien Smith taking over Kellerman's previous controls as CEO LookSmart Australia.

Smith was more recently director of operations for LookSmart's Asia-Pacific arm.

"I'm very pleased to be further strengthening our general management ranks with two proven operational executives," LookSmart chairman and CEO Evan Thornley, said in a statement.

"The creation of a COO position enables us to devote more general management attention to daily operations while freeing CEO resources to longer-term strategic initiatives such as further leveraging our strategic relationships with Microsoft and Cox, and the development of next generation technologies that our customers are telling us they require."

Kellerman brings with him a successful general management record as leader of LookSmart's Australian business and Smith demonstrates strong line management and strategic skills in both product and revenue roles, the company said.
