DoubleClick sheds 150 staff By Megan McAuliffe, ZDNet Australia December 05, 2000 URL: http://www.zdnet.com.au/news/soa/DoubleClick-sheds-150-staff/0,139023165,120107402,00.htm
Internet advertising solutions company DoubleClick has slashed 150 managers from its United States operation as part of a restructure. "With the maturing of the company, we've been looking at how we can run the operation more efficiently, and utilise management better, other than multiple streams of managers," DoubleClick Australia Managing Director Jason Ward said. DoubleClick has axed 150 employees in the United States as part of a realignment of management across all divisions. According to Ward, the company has undergone restructuring in the past, however "the numbers are a bit higher this time." "The US represents the most significant part of [our] global employee base by a long way," he added. Ward said that "to his knowledge", there were not likely to be any retrenchments in Australia.
