update Local IT services company UXC has won a AU$3 million contract with the federal Department of Health and Ageing to streamline the processes required for drugs to be listed on the pharmaceutical benefits scheme (PBS).
The Interactive Communications Facility (ICF) project will be implemented in the department's pharmaceutical benefits division, and is part of a wider ongoing systems transformation.
Dytech Solutions -- UXC's application development group -- will design, construct and deploy the ICF. As well as reducing the time taken to list drugs on the PBS, the ICF will also give departmental staff easy access to a pool of stored information.
"UXC has made a significant commitment to building a platform of services and solutions that align with federal government business needs," Geoff Lord, UXC executive chairman said in a statement to the Australian Stock Exchange this morning.
The new contract comes on the back of a recent AU$5.9 million win with the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFAT) for Consular Assistance Information System development.
ICF is expected to be completed by mid-2008.
