SA govt picks hosting panel

The South Australian government has selected a panel of three vendors to supply the agencies' hosting needs over the next three years.

In a move to cut the cost of procuring agencies' hosting needs, South Australia has selected EDS, Hostworks and Internode to be on the three-year panel.

State chief information officer Andrew Mills said that using pre-assessed service providers would streamline purchasing for agencies since it would allow them to bypass the usual open market tender approach.

"The value of this hosting service is likely to be around $2 million per year and deliver better pricing outcomes for government by encouraging competition," Mills said in a statement.

Establishing the panel was part of the state's official strategic plan, which it announced in March this year.
