Chinese PC manufacturer Lenovo has released details of its upcoming ThinkServer line, which will be available in Australia from today.

Lenovo's ThinkServers will be available in either rack or tower form factors. Matthew Steele, director of channel development workstation and server for Lenovo in the region said that the company would offer Windows and Linux operating systems.
"Globally we are partnering with Novell as a pre-installed offering, but we certainly support and recognise Red Hat as a partner," Steele said.
Lenovo's servers will only be available running an Intel platform, running either Core 2 Duo processors or quad core Xeon processors. Steele said Lenovo currently had no plans to build systems based on AMD platforms. "But if the market did take a strong change ... then we'd certainly consider any option," he said.
Lenovo's new server range will start at a price of AU$1,365, and is aimed at the SMB market with a maximum capacity of two CPUs.
