While in the city, Amelio will meet one-on-one with a number of Lenovo customers and will also host a round-table session with about 35 Australian CEOs from a range of industries, organised by business networking specialist CEO Forum Group.

The focus would be the effect of globalisation on business, a spokesperson for Lenovo disclosed.

Amelio has also scheduled an event in Sydney on 2 September with Lenovo customers, business partners, invited guests and media at which Olympic swimming medallist Eamon Sullivan will also talk about his Olympic experience.

On the next day Amelio has agreed to be the keynote speaker at an American Chamber of Commerce in Australia luncheon, open to anyone who registers via www.amcham.com.au.

"Bill Amelio takes a very hands-on approach to his role as global CEO, taking every opportunity to visit and connect personally with his international teams and customers," a spokesperson for the company said.

The short stop is part of a longer Asia Pacific trip, the spokesperson said.
